When you're ready to fill your freezer, we'll send you a contract to sign. You'll choose your preferred Finish Weight (details below) and provide the name of your chosen processor. Once your deposit is paid, your half or whole hog will be officially reserved!
As the pig nears its finish weight, we'll finalize the processing delivery date. On that scheduled date, we'll weigh your pig, collect the final payment, and confirm your preferred cuts. If you'd like specific cuts, you can also coordinate directly with the processor.
After we deliver the pig to the processor, our part is done. You’ll need to pick up your order directly from the processor. If you prefer, we can handle the pickup and deliver it to you for a small, calculated fee.
We offer three different finish weights dependent on the amount of meat desired. Please note, after the pig reaches 300 Lbs. it will develop fat at an increased rate. Increased fat will result in a higher marbling in your cuts.
The hanging weight is the remains of the hog when the internal organs are removed. This is estimated to be anywhere between 70%-75% of the live finish weight.
This hanging weight includes the bones, head, lard, skin and other bits(feet, ears, etc.). We refer to these as the "Extra Bits". You can opt-out of each to reduce the $/Lb.
This will reduce your rate to $5.00/Lb. of hanging weight.
Below is a price estimate of each finish weight, opting out of "Extra Bits", and estimated processing fee:

A general rule is you need 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 15-20 Lbs. of meat. For reverence, the interior of a milk crate is slightly more than a cubic foot. For a half hog you need 3.5 cubic feet and for a whole hog you will need 7 cubic feet.
